Gaika James was born in New Orleans, but it was during his college years, he began gigging around Dallas with various types of ensembles (gospel, funk, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, dance/electronica), and gaining a better understanding of how to play and interact with other musicians in creation. From that journey, the GJQ is born. The GJQ is an eclectic mix of many genres, with jazz at its root. The GJQ's members hail from Dallas, West Texas, the Bay area, and southeast Texas. The GJQ will have you groovin' Thursday evening at Scat Jazz Lounge. Showtime is 9 p.m.
