Scat Jazz Lounge features Sandra Kaye and a Few Good Men Saturday, September 12. Mark your calendars now! Sandra started her career by winning a singing contest at the now defunct West End Cabaret in Dallas. Sandra says that her sound, which is very similar to Dinah Washington is the result of learning by listening. In her career she has graced the stage with many heavy weights of jazz, from the late Claude Johnson, Marchel Ivery and Onzy Matthews to Shelley Carrol, Bad Leali and Roy Hargove. Sandra Kaye sings with big bands at home and abroad, her international exposure and experience has taken her to China, Japan, France, Italy, Greece, turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong, Spain and Africa. She is making her return visit to Scat. Showtime is 9 p.m. Scat is located at 111 W. 4th Street, Suite 11 in the basement of the historic Woolworth Building. Look for the alley entrance off of 4th Street between Worthington National Bank and Jos. A. Bank. The club is open Tuesdays - Fridays from 5 p.m. - 2 a.m., Saturdays from6 p.m. - 2 a.m., and Sundays from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m. Closed Mondays.
